Virtual Private Ethernet
Cirrus' portfolio of Virtual Private Ethernet (VPE) services puts you back in control of your network.
Leveraging our extensive IP/wireless network, Cirrus VPE lets you have the best of both worlds: the simplicity and flexibility of Ethernet built on the foundation of an intelligent and redundant routed network.
Where available, Cirrus can offer a "multi tower" installation option where an end user site is connected to 2 or more wireless transmission sites. This will mitigate the effects of a failure in the event of a fault or outage.
Example usage scenarios include:
- Enterprises looking to connect 2 or more office buildings
- IT service providers and systems integrators looking to add data communications to their existing product offerings
- Wholesale service providers wanting to aggregate multiple customer connections to a single handoff point
Private Virtual Ethernet (PVE) enables many-to-many mesh connectivity, allowing Cirrus customers to connect any number of sites with no extra configuration effort. Cirrus’ VPE service removes the complexity of choosing from a range of complex products and services. Each customer site is connected to the Cirrus core Ethernet network via an access service. From the customer’s perspective, the Virtual Private Ethernet service can be seen as a layer 2 bridge with ports at each site. This method gives the most flexibility to the end user or IT service provider with respect to IP addressing, routing, etc.
Cirrus PVE service is purpose-built for business. It provides a flexible, scalable, resilient and cost-effective layer 2 managed Ethernet network for businesses who are seeking to securely integrate their business cost effectively
- Connect business offices
- Converge data, voice and video services and
- Centralise core information services for internal and external use
VPE integrates with Cirrus’ own Business Grade Wireless services, which means that businesses can easily connect offices in previously difficult broadband location. Cirrus also offers SHDSL and ADSL services as well as 3G Access Services into the PVE leveraging all infrastructures to cater for differing customer needs and geographic availability.
This service is provided free to customers using Cirrus Wireless connections.
